Observability-as-a-service billing platform

The challenge

Observability tooling (Grafana, VictoriaMetrics, OpenTelemetry, Jaeger, Splunk) was shared infrastructure with no cost accountability — usage kept growing without a way to attribute spend to teams.

What I built

A billing mechanism tied into the CMDB, integrated with ServiceNow/ITSM workflows, so observability costs are tracked and attributed per consuming application/team.

Result

Gave the organization visibility into who was driving observability costs, enabling informed decisions about tooling investment and usage limits.
